PRE-TRIP BLOG ENTRY: This year's pilgrimage to our beloved España, started in November 2016 funny enough on Black Friday. Paul had previously screened and priced flights to Madrid, so he had a relative idea what the prices had been running. However, when ALL of the sales were in full swing during the Black Friday Sales (day after Thanksgiving Holiday), he noted that airlines also had their own version of Black Friday discounts as well. When he noted a $2K drop in couple cost the dates of travel were the only lingering question to solve. After the purchase it boiled down to which quadrant of the country would be our target to explore. Ultimately, we choose Extremadura a region in south-central Spain, which lies on the border with Portugal west and south of Madrid. We will meander our way southward ultimately to the south coast of the Spain and return via Cordoba and Toledo back up to Madrid for our return flight to the USA. Anticipated stops along our trail are forecasted for: ( New stops/hotels for us are shown in *BOLD)
